For safety
When nothing
Is safe?
When
In agony?
What it heard
And felt
As a child
Before it knew
Language.
Be kind
With your
Nursery rhymes.
We remember
And if they are
Not safe?
What then can
The mind
Go back
And rely on
For inner peace
From the start
Of their life?
Sing in C major
And of safety
Not of any danger
It’s too soon:
They’re a baby
For years
Help them
Grow.
The first year is so important:
That’s when babies
(With the capacities for auditory processing)
Can hear every possible
Grapheme and sound
Human ears
Can ever pick up on.
And after that developmental
Period
It is more difficult
To hear
And understand
That which it has not.
It all must be carefully
Taught.
